USS BENNINGTON Hartford, Conn. Newspapers 26 MAY 1954 EXPLOSION Good evening Lonnie Whittaker. I'm very happy that you could at least use some parts from the newspaper articles in my dad's scrapbook. Most all the newspaper articles were un-mounted. Please, if you are to give anyone credit where credit is due, it would have to be to my dad and his sister, or maybe his mother, who took the time to save the articles well after he returned safely home. The credit belongs to my dad, a brave sailor who served his country. At this time, I once again reiterate "do not print my name in any way, all credit goes to my dad, C.D.
