Dear USS-Bennington.org -
My father (Graham Casserly) served on the Bennington. A while back we took one of his favorite photos, touched it up in the computer and designed a poster. We printed out a few copies and thought if there was enough interest that we might eventually be able to have a short run printed professionally. Sorry to say we haven't gotten to that point; but still have the files onhand (the full image is over 16megs).
I was looking at your website today and noticed you have a copy of the photo online (PHOTO GALLERY [BENNINGTON - CVA-20 - 1953]). I thought I'd email you a better copy. [changed] The original full image is quite detailed. I've also included 2 close-up detail shots for your site. You can almost make out peoples faces. The last attached image is a scaled down version of the poster. You might like to put it online for users to download and print out their very own mini-poster. It's a PDF file, so you'll need Adobe Acrobat reader to view it. If you don't already have it installed, you can download it free from the adobe website (www.adobe.com).
