That photo was taken somewhere off the coast of Southern California, right after the 6 month,
3rd Fleet Rehab & Maintenance Overhaul (FRAM II) period, during refresher training.

I have an original photo, an aerial view, of the USS Bennington, dated 4-19-63,
designated as “Official U.S. Navy Photograph” with photo credit by “BUGESS, G.W.”
Another number on the back is 7147-4-63 to probably indicate the photographer’s series.
This may have been the vessel my late uncle served on in the Pacific.
He was in the area of Leyte during his tour of duty.
I have a picture of him in his Navy uniform,
and will identify him by name and submit his picture also if you are interested .
