That’s him, the Chief kneeling in the middle of the front row, John W. Schassar.
I don’t know if the date is quite right.
Mom remembers hearing on the news that there had been an explosion on the Bennington and then getting word that Dad wasn’t hurt.
I hope that some of the guys in the photo are still with us and will enjoy this picture.
