MICKEY'S - PENSACOLA REUNION - 1997
A lot of you were at the reunion we had at Pensacola.
Does anyone remember this?

I didn't go to the reunion but this is at the Naval Aviation museum at NAS Pensacola.
I live near there.
An interesting bit of trivia about one of our sister Essex Class carriers- the Hornet.
This museum has the original huge sign which was hanging on the hanger
bay of the Hornet showing all the Japanese ships sunk and zeros shot down, etc.
This hung on the Island side, amidships and was very large.
I was on the Hornet for the West Pac cruise of 1968-1969.
When we pulled into Japan, we would cover this historical sign with a
huge picture of Snoopy, who was very popular in Japan at the time. Interesting
politics!
This museum is "required visiting" for all who have been a part of Naval Aviation.
You can immerse youself in history- your history.
