Brooklyn Navy Yard.... Liberty was great
The CO in 1954-55 it was Captain Raborn.... This was right after the Benn accident in the North Atlantic off the Mass. coast.... We were in dry dock for 11 months.... Brooklyn Navy Yard.... Liberty was great !!!! Shakedown cruise to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.... Liberty sucked !!!! Back to Quonset Point, RI and then around the Horn to the West Coast.... I was in the Marine Detachment at that time.... Got off before heading to the West Coast.... by Bernard Williamson
