Capt Raborn - a great speaker
I noted in the crew's stories, the name of Capt Raborn, who we in the photo lab called Raving Red. Because he was the CO during the catapult explosion, he made it a point to spead himself around to all the Garden Clubs, Ladies Clubs, Church Groups, School class room, etc, etc, etc. As photographers we covered each and every one of these speechs from the time I went aboard in April of 55 until he left the ship. Others must have photographed him earlier. He was a great speaker and a tower of strength to all aboard. He always assumed that there was a photographer near by.
