Does anyone remember going through ORI in San Diego, When we had a man overboard drill and managed to dump the crew of the lifeboat into the water while trying to recover "Oscar" the dummy.
Or do you remember where you were when we got the word that Kennedy had been killed?
How about the Typhoon in the China sea. The one time I really feared for my life. When you see green water on the flight deck it is time to get nervous. Not only that, we had to eat horse "_____" sandwiches because the galley was secured.
Then we had to go back to Yokosuka to repair the damage, which was quite extensive.
How about Hong Kong and the Fleet Club that the Royal Navy ran. There you could check out all the "approved " merchandise. Tailors, where you could buy a set of whites for two dollars or gabardine blues for ten or fifteen.
