Dear Sirs,
I would like to thank you all for the information containing the history and legacy of the USS Bennington.
I am the son of George W. Lenz jr, who was killed durring the trials that occured off of Rhode Island in 1954.
My mother was pregnant with me at the time.
I was to be born on October 3rd of the same year.
My father also left a daughter who was 4 years old at the time.
It is difficult for me personally to think about the fact that I never knew my father.
When I read this information nearly 47 years later, it makes me feel somewhat closer to him.
Thank you for not forgetting all of the men who have perrished.
