Wackiest ship in the army:
I was aboard the ship when they did the filming. They spent 2 whole days filming the 15 minutes of the movie. We put to sea in the middle of the week just to make the film.
In the ORIGINAL movie, before they cut it up for TV, as the COD took off, I jumped up from my port catapult deck edge position and ran across the flight deck behind the plane. I used to watch it and point out to the kids how important the dad was as he was in the movies. If I could find a copy of the "original" before cuts, I would buy it.
