I just ran across the web site Joe...
I had the pleasure of signing off the Deck Log as the OOD at the decommisioning in Jan. 1970. She was a fine ship and I have many fond memories of her.
From '68 till decom, I served as Asst. Comm., ASCAC, RPS Cust. Asst Ops and finally the pleasure (?) of standing in the cold on the Qdeck for Decom ceremonies.
